Through Parents as Teachers, you’ll be matched with a Family Support Specialist. They’ll meet with you monthly, in the comfort of your own home (or another location you prefer), to provide:

Fun activities you can do as a family

Developmental screenings
-
Resources for your child’s development (sleep, nutrition, milestones, social emotional regulation, etc.)

Resources for you as a caregiver (goal setting, mental health, family safety, etc.)

Jessie Brewster
Family Support Specialist
Jessie was raised in Montana’s beautiful Bitterroot Valley. As a stay-at-home mom of three wonderful kids, she attained an Associate of Arts Degree with an emphasis in Communication Studies at University of Montana.

In 2017, Jessie started her career as a Family Advocate at a Resource Center at the edge of the Blackfeet Reservation, working with both families and youth. Her career brought her and her family to Laramie, Wyoming, where she began her role as a Family Support Specialist.
​
Jessie has a passion for supporting parents on their journeys through a holistic and understanding approach. She also enjoys an array of hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, painting, and hiking with her family.

Ruth Troyanek
Family Support Specialist
Ruth has lived in Laramie for 16 years, previously serving the community as a public librarian. Her favorite role at the public library was serving as the Youth Services Librarian and leading programs for young children. She is excited to again serve families as a Family Support Specialist.
